Dawn Chorus, Forêt du Grand Duc, Mandelieu, France in April 2021 – by Colin Hunter

“Here is a recording I made of the spring dawn chorus in the Tanneron Ridges, about 5km inland from the Mediterranean Sea in the south of France. The Forêt Du Grand Duc (Eagle Owl Forest) covers 90 hectares and offers beautiful views over the Mediterranean Sea, the Bay of Cannes and the Lérins Islands. The recording was made at 6am, about 45 minutes before sunrise and we hear a mix of nightingales, robins, blue tits, blackbirds and other common woodland birds.”
