Rhythms in the rain, Portland, Oregon, USA in Winter 2021 – by Jason Hovatter

“It’s a rainy day and i’m messing around outside the house with my hydrophone… popped it in one of the little copper rain basins out front and WOAH! the bass is just amazing… and there’s a rhythm (kinda) oh and everyone seems to be recording chalk with their hydrophones lately so since i was on the front porch I picked up a couple pieces and dropped em in about halfway thru too… unedited… i did add a little eq and compression to take care of some peaking on louder drips but that’s about it… recorded with an Aquarian Audio H2a-XLR-3 Hydrophone on a Tascam DR680-MKII”
