Singing gate, Bronkham Hill, Dorset, UK on the winter solstice 2020 – by George Ridgway
“Recorded on a very windy and foggy morning on winter solstice, shortly after sunrise, en route to Bronkham hill. Whilst walking along the ridge, dotted with Burial Mounds and Barrows, the ‘land of bone and stone’, we suddenly heard a low humming and couldn’t place the sound for ages. Thinking it was noise from a village a few miles away carried by the gale, it was instead a singing gate right in front of us.”
