Church bells at dusk, Suffolk, UK on 9th April 2021 – by Melissa Harrison and Peter Rogers

“In a sleepy village in rural Suffolk, UK, the church bell rings at dusk to mark the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh earlier in the day. It’s answered by a more distant bell in the next village, the sound carrying clearly on the quiet evening air; bells right across the country are doubtless doing the same. As the light fades the birds perform their evening chorus over the death knell, falling in and out of time; wood pigeons fly over, seeking their nighttime roosts; and a couple of cars pass by. Recorded by Melissa Harrison and edited by Peter Rogers.”
