Calm morning at riverbed, Borneo rainforest in 2020 – by George Vlad

“It’s early morning at a dry riverbed in the Borneo rainforest. The soundscape is thick and piercing but not too busy. Gentle fog drip creates a subtle drawn-out rhythm while the calls of cicadas, katydids and other insects provide a monotonous backdrop. Tree frogs are winding down their night calls with bird calls slowly taking their place in the frequency spectrum. If you listen closely you can hear Grey langurs calling and moving about (hint: their calls sound like a creaky old door).
