Park am Gleisdreieck, Berlin, Germany at 6am on 18 March 2020 – by Benjamin Yates
“This recording was taken at dawn this morning. The park is a former wasteland at the intersect between West and East Berlin which has now been reclaimed as an urban space, with lots of greenery, playgrounds and fitness things dotted around it. Usually, it’s super busy with people, but in the morning the only sounds are from the birds competing with the din of the first U-bahn trains of the day which surround the park on raised railway platforms. I really like this sonic juxtaposition. And, it was nice to get out of the house and record something, at a difficult time.”
