“Here is a field recording from me. From what really is a field, a sometime-grass, sometime-dirt, drought-depending foreshore in a small seaside town not far from here. Though one that becomes something else after 6pm, for one month of the summer. To wit: a small-town carnival that looks, feels –and sounds — like the offerings haven’t been amended since circa 1981.”
